Thursday night witnessed the complete destruction of the crematorium building at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in east Vancouver due to a fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. At 8:45 p.m., Vancouver firefighters quickly responded to the blaze at 1101 N.E. 112th Ave, finding flames shooting through the roof upon arrival.
Crews promptly applied water to the fire, but about 10 minutes later, as they entered the building, the roof started collapsing, leading to a strategic retreat. Firefighters gained control of the blaze using elevated streams from a ladder truck, managing the situation from the exterior. The incident unfolded in Vancouver, Washington, with no reported casualties.
